You may have noticed that we expanded our product line beyond Jeep, RAM and Ford. Not too long ago, we added a mounting solution for the 2016+ 3rd Generation Toyota Tacoma.
Today's feature is all about AJ Clevenger and his 2018 TRD Off Road Tacoma nicknamed 4x4 beast.
It's a great truck that really hold its own off-roading. Toyota has always been known for their reliable engines and there's incredible aftermarket support which makes it a very attractive option for builds.
It's quite the addicting hobby!
AJ's first Tacoma was a 2006 pre-runner TRD sport and he had it for almost 11 years before it was totalled in an accident. Fortunately, he was able to walk away with only minor injuries.
"I then bought a brand new 2018 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4 that I have turned into an amazing “Beast” rig to take over obstacles and out on the trails here in California."
Future mods include rock sliders and a roof/bed rack.
"I chose Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions because it first caught my attention while scrolling through Instagram. Then I saw that you guys made a mount for Tacoma so I looked into it and loved the mounting style compared to others.
Once I set up the mount, I was in love with it. Honestly, I was so glad I chose it."
AJ has a love for collecting and making patches. We asked him how he first got into it.
“I got addicted to collecting velcro patches for my Tacoma and placing them on my headliner. I wanted to make some of my own to trade with and sell to others who were into collecting them as well."
Beyond patches, AJ is also big into mountain biking. He even raced for 4 years in Vegas. Naturally, there's a lot of overlap between mountain biking and off-roading and this also led to AJ getting into motocross.
In other words, anything with speed mixed with dirt, mud and mountains!
AJ's wife is also into the off-road scene. She's the owner of a Billet Silver Wrangler JL and even has our dual ball driver side magnetic mount in her rig.
We've been told the Wrangler will be getting some goods like a lift and tires in the near future.
AJ is a Surgery Radiologic Technologist. He assists surgeons with Radiological equipment so that they can see where they are working like back surgery with screws and plating or hip replacement with replacing the hip with a metal prosthesis.
AJ's heritage is Filippino. He normally goes by AJ but his official name is Arsenio which also happens to be his grandpa's name.
With a quick little search, we found the name has Spanish origins and actually means manly and strong.
