Ok so lets say I was skeptical. I have had suction cup window mounts, clipped to my ventilator mount's various magnetic mount's, in my last four jeeps. None of them have survived. It's not for heavy off-road use, but mostly the temperature swings inside the vehicle in the middle of the US. When is 10 below zero in winter and 120 in the summer sitting in the sun plastic just doesn't work so I seen many a review online for these products and finally decided to give it a try. I don't regret it at all the base is a two-part design that you take your rubber tray out never to return. Take the two screws out, put the first half of the metal tray down and screw it in with the original screws. There are extra screws. You can put in to make it even more permanent in addition to double-sided tape already on the unit however, you really don't need anything more than those two factory screws. Take your top half attach your ball where you want it and do it semi tight and just set the top on the lower part get in play with your device you're attaching and see if it's where you want it. I did not want something that was going to block dashboard or block my air conditioner, vents or block my factory radio after five minutes, I figured out where I wanted it and tightened it all up. Then you simply screw the top to the bottom and it's about eight small screws that come already in it and you're done. I only purchased one arm and mount for my phone because my wife's phone has a case on it and I didn't know whether it would fit the unit that I purchased so today after this review, I will be purchasing a second arm and a universal holder that will adapt to my wife's phone in case. I've had this installed for several weeks. I like how it looks, but more importantly, I like how it functions if I wanna charge my phone I can still plug my phone into my electric cable that is coming out of the front of my dashboard however, if I just wanna attach it there, it's very quick to do that too.
Overall solid, stable, and safe
