In this Customer Spotlight, we explore the fascinating world of Dan Smith, better known as @thelunartik. With a trio of adventure-ready vehicles — a 2024 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X, 2024 Ford Bronco Badlands Sasquatch and 2022 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro — Dan combines innovation, exploration, and a love for the outdoors in every build.
Dan’s journey into overlanding began with a simple beach pass in North Carolina. “I saw two families camping on the beach with their overland rigs, and it clicked,” Dan recalls. Inspired by the idea of traveling with his daughter to experience the beauty of the U.S., he bought a Toyota 4Runner and began customizing it for adventures. This early spark has since grown into a full-blown passion for building and exploring.
Today, Dan’s lineup of vehicles reflects his evolving expertise in blending function and style:

For Dan, Bulletpoint Mounting Solutions has transformed his driving experience. “The versatility and quality of the mounts are unmatched,” he says. Whether it’s for navigation or running GPS maps off-road, Bulletpoint provides convenience and reliability both on and off the trail.
“The ability to add or remove arms for different devices is so useful,” Dan says. After seeing Bulletpoint mounts in person, he was convinced. “The quality is top-notch.”
Now, both his Wrangler and Bronco are fully outfitted with Bulletpoint solutions, and he’s even considering revamping his Tundra’s setup to match.
“I love my Bulletpoint setup,” Dan shares. The mounts keep his devices within easy reach while staying out of the way, a feature he finds invaluable in his Bronco and Jeep. “Off-roading is easier with a tablet mount angled perfectly for reading GPS maps,” he adds.
Dan’s Bulletpoint mounts aren’t just about convenience—they’re essential for both his lifestyle and adventures.
Day-to-Day Driving : The MagSafe phone mount keeps his phone securely in place and easily accessible, making it effortless to glance at notifications safely.
Off-Roading Adventures : Dan swears by the phone mount, mic mount, handheld radio mount, and tablet mount. “These are a must,” he emphasizes. With these tools, Dan can run GPS maps in clear sight and communicate seamlessly with spotters and other rigs during his off-road escapades.
Dan’s creative journey began years ago when he combined his vinyl wrap business with a love for photography. Today, he captures breathtaking landscapes, overland setups, and adventures with a unique perspective honed over two decades. He also dabbles with models as you can see below. 🔥
Dan’s favorite trip was taking his daughter to Tennessee for white water rafting, fishing, ziplining, and mountain biking — a trip filled with firsts and unforgettable moments. Looking ahead, he plans to explore Arizona, Colorado, and Utah in his Bronco while completing its build.
“Do your research. Quality costs,” Dan advises. He emphasizes attending events, talking to other enthusiasts, and prioritizing reliable gear. “Off-roading doesn’t come cheap, but it’s worth the investment.”
