AMPS Compatible 20mm Ball with Metal Mounting Plate

    BMS-Amps4Hole

Looking to add an additional device holder to your RubiGrid® dash mount or maybe you're looking for a smaller standalone mounting base for a more custom installation? Our lineup of AMPS balls are just what you're looking for!

Each AMPS Plate and 20mm Ball Joint Assembly comes with Heavy Duty Bolts, washers and Nylon Locking Nuts so you get everything required for a rock solid installation.

The ball size is 20mm and is compatible with any of our standard Carbon Fiber + Kevlar Mounting Arms with 20mm connector ends and our GoPro Mount.

    PATENT PENDING

    2-HOLE vs 4-HOLE AMPS BALLS

Choose between our rectangular 4-Hole plate, 2-Hole plate or Mini 2-Hole plate depending on your needs.

4-holes AMPS balls are recommended for maximum stability with phone and tablet holders. Hole locations for our 4-hole ball are in the standard AMPS pattern of 30mm x 38mm (1.181” x 1.496”) so this will mount to anything with the AMPS hole configuration.

2-hole AMPS mounts are suitable for lightweight action cameras, other lightweight devices or certain narrow RubiGrid® dash mounts such as our 2022+ GMC/Chevy RubiGrid® Dash Mount and our 2016-2023 Toyota Tacoma RubiGrid® Dash Mount. The 2 holes are positioned 47mm apart.

The 2-Hole Mini is perfect for squeezing in an extra device when space is limited. The 2-Hole Mini is compatible with the Magnetic Mic utilizing their supplied hardware. The 2 holes are positioned 38mm apart.

    BUILD QUALITY & MATERIALS

The base is made from precision laser-cut metal and features a thin rubber strip to help absorb and reduce unwanted vibrations as well as prevent scratching with the mounting surface.

The 20mm machined ball is also made from metal and features grooves to help provide additional friction and grip so your device won't spin or move.

    RUBIGRID® COMPATIBILITY

These plate and ball assemblies are fully compatible with our RubiGrid® Platform Base for the Jeep Wrangler JL and Gladiator, RAM Truck RubiGrid®, RubiGrid® for GMC Sierra & Chevrolet Silverado as well as our Ford F-Series Mounts.

Shown below are 3 of our RubiGrid® systems with the 4-Hole AMPS Plate & Ball to demonstrate what is possible.

    GARMIN® COMPATIBILITY

Our 4-Hole AMPS balls are compatible with certain Garmin® units. See our Garmin® Compatibility page to confirm fitment.

Caution GM 14-19 for correct size

Great quality product and easy installation. But if you have a GM/Chevy 14-19 you will be using the smaller Ribigrid and the 4 hole mounts will not fit with all 4 screws. I was mounting a backup camera screen and wanted to have the broadest base to ensure stability. When I did the install, I realized the 4 hole mounts were too big and had to mount using only 2 screw holes.

    Could be a cleaner look

This is my second F-150 with this setup. I had a similar setup in my 2018 F-150 and the ball mounts had no exposed fasteners. This was a much cleaner look than the newer units. I purchased the Rubigrid system for my 2022 F-150 Lariat, and it is just a universal AMPS ball with exposed fasteners. Its disappointing, this regression.

Hello Michael, thank you for taking the time to write a review. I have looked into this and found you previously purchased a dual ball mount for your Ford. That mount has the balls already mounted. They do not move or come out. Your new mount is a RubiGrid mount. That mount uses our amps balls system. They are seperate and moveable so they need to have a way to screw down. That is why they come with screws to mount them to the RubiGrid unlike your previous dual ball mount. They are 2 completely different mounts with 2 completely different ways to mount to them. If you have any further questions we are happy to help. You can reach out to customer support at any time.
