This week's customer feature is Tony Hill from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Tony works in the Research and Development department at Abbvie Labs, a global pharmaceutical company. He owns an overland-ready 2021 Hydro Blue Jeep Gladiator Mojave and loves to wheel in his spare time. Let's get started with his Gladiator build!
"I have a 2021 Hydro Blue Jeep Gladiator Mojave which I took delivery of back in November 2021. I gave it the nickname Hungry Hippo since it likes being at the gas station." #itsajeepthing
Here's the rundown of all the mods on Tony's Mojave:
"The modifications you can make to the Gladiator seem to never end. Right, now, I'm waiting for a JCR rear bumper with tire carrier and rock sliders to show up. I'm also going with an even bigger lift down the road!
If money were no object, a Hellcat engine and beefy axles would definitely make its way into the truck."
"I have the RubiGrid® Platform Dash Mount with Matte Blue Carbon Fiber Mounting Arms to match the exterior Hydro Blue paint. I started out with a simple phone holder, but over time I've added a second holder, GoPro mount, Tablet holder and a radio holder. The RubiGrid is perfect because it has allowed me to expand as I've added more gadgets to my collection.
One of my passions is filming my trips and making videos to share with friends and family. The RubiGrid allows me to use my various cameras to capture high-quality footage. The RubiGrid is truly the best bang for the dollar and the quality is top notch."
"I got my first Jeep in high school which was a 2001 XJ. I drove it until the transmission failed and then got a 2 door Wrangler after that. I also had a JKU which I built with one ton axles. After I sold the JKU I took some time away from the Jeep life, but realized after a couple years how much I missed the lifestyle and the people."
"I love that you can customize everything and truly make it your own. The people that make up the Jeep community are also incredibly passionate so it's just a great group to be a part of. I've also made a ton of great friends and traveled around the United States thanks to the opportunities I've had with the Jeep community."
Tony lives in Kenosha, Wisconsin where there aren't too many places to go wheeling, but he makes his way down to the badlands in Indiana to get his dose of off-roading.
He's also made several trips to Moab in both his Jeep and a CanAm he had for a few years. The trips are a great chance to get out and blow off some steam and also to spend time with his young son, Max.
"Without question Moab is my absolute favorite place to go. I first went out there in 2018 and have been back several times since. It's amazing and I would encourage anyone who gets a chance to go, especially during Easter Jeep Safari.
Coming from Wisconsin, it's an understatement to say that Moab is different. The wheeling and scenery are unmatched. I was in awe the whole time and will definitely be going back again."
Tony works in the Research and Development department at Abbvie Labs, just outside of Chicago. As part of his job, he works with the Chemists who do work on blood cancers and Parkinson's medications.
Prior to joining Abbvie 3 years ago, Tony worked as a material handler at the Jeep plant in Kenosha. Seeing the passion and dedication that the employees had was another reason he loved the Jeep life.
Tony has a young son and loves to go camping, wrench on cars, and ride his motorcycle and bicycle. He's also an amateur media producer and spends some of his free time editing videos of his adventures.
